Where will Wynn Al Marjan Island be located?
Wynn Resorts is a project being built in partnership with Marjan and RAK Hospitality Holding. The development is the company’s first beachfront resort and is being built on a beautiful island of almost 62 hectares jutting into the Arabian Gulf.
Ras Al Khaimah is a rapidly expanding tourism destination in the Middle East, situated near major airports in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Al Marjan Island, consisting of four islands, offers visitors nearly five miles of beautiful beaches and 24 kilometres of waterfront.
“Historically, the area around Ras Al Khaimah was a beacon for navigation and important trade on the Arabian Gulf. Early travellers through the gulf relied upon this tented settlement as a trade landmark between the Arabian Gulf and the Arabian Sea,” says Todd Lenahan, President and Chief Creative Officer of Wynn Design and Development. “We designed the 300-metre-tall resort tower with Ras Al Khaimah’s historic role as a great navigational sentinel in mind. We hope this becomes a new landmark, a new beacon, for travellers to Ras Al Khaimah from across the globe.”
What is the cost of the project?
The cost of the resort is reported to be around $3.9 billion.
What are the unique amenities on offer at Wynn Al Marjan Island?
Wynn Al Marjan Island will overlook its own white sand beach with views of the Arabian Gulf and the natural beauty of Ras Al Khaimah rising to the Hajar Mountains. The resort will offer luxury amenities and experiences with 1,542 rooms and suites, including 22 Villa Estates on the marina. Guests can enjoy an extensive poolscape next to the beach with multiple swimming pools, water features, cabanas, and tropical landscaping covering 3.6 hectares.
The curated collection of 22 dining, lounge and bar experiences will each be presented in their own uniquely designed space, many with views of the beach and poolscape. The theatre will feature bespoke production shows.
The resort will feature a 15,000-square-metre shopping esplanade with luxury boutiques, a five-star spa, and a salon. Additionally, there will be a 7,500-square-metre meetings and events centre designed for meetings, conventions, and special celebrations. Outdoor event terraces and lawns will also be available for gatherings and events.
The resort will also have a light and laser show every night to highlight the natural beauty of the Ras Al Khaimah islands. Touted to be a man-made oasis, it will retain the rawness of the surrounding ecosystem by replicating the natural curve shape of the beach in the design of its podium, beach-facing promenade and opera house.
Though highly anticipated for its gaming amenities, its chief executive said that the property will feature “rich non-gaming amenities” as well.
“Wynn Design and Development has employed more than 90 talented architects, designers, and creative visionaries, who are overseeing all facets of the project’s design and development. Having designed and developed iconic resorts on two continents, and now in Ras Al Khaimah, it is safe to say no single design and architecture team has had a greater impact on the creation of gaming resorts globally than Wynn Design and Development.”
“I am incredibly proud of our design and development team’s ability to impart our legacy of rich, thoughtful design into a sun-soaked beachside resort that will delight customers, new and old. We look forward to opening Wynn Al Marjan Island in early 2027,” said the CEO in his statement to the press.
